SIGI organized a capacity-building training course on psychological first aid and self-care in the workplace from March 9 to 11, 2025, with the participation of 20 of the association’s staff members. The course aimed to enable participants to acquire effective skills for managing stress, supporting colleagues and beneficiaries during crises, and integrating self-care into their daily lives to contribute to fostering a healthy and sustainable work environment.

This training is part of the TAMASOK program, implemented by the UK-based company Chemonics in partnership with the Generations for Peace Foundation. The program aims to enhance the role of women in peace and security efforts by supporting the capacity building of civil society organizations and those working on women's issues.

The training focused on the following areas:

  1. Empowering participants to apply psychological first aid techniques in crisis situations.

  2. Developing stress management skills to maintain emotional balance.

  3. Providing self-care strategies to prevent burnout and achieve a work-life balance.

  4. Enhancing teamwork through interactive activities and mindfulness techniques.

For her part, Abir Esha, the project manager, pointed out that the training represents a valuable opportunity for participants to acquire skills and mechanisms for dealing with pressures on both personal and professional levels. She added that "Tadamon" plans to conduct further specialized training in self-care in the workplace throughout 2025.

Trainer Mr. Ashraf Abu Halawa explained that the training achieved the desired outcomes in terms of emotional release over the three days, with participants engaging positively, which contributed to expressing and managing stress. He emphasized the importance of self-care in daily life to create a healthy and supportive environment for both themselves and their workplaces. The training was also characterized by an interactive atmosphere that encouraged all participants to engage in activities and discussions, reflecting the extent to which the training met their expectations. Abu Halawa thanked the "Tadamon" association and its management for organizing these sessions, which contribute to sustaining and developing the work to achieve better results.

In conclusion, participants expressed their appreciation for being part of the training, which was distinguished by spontaneity, cooperation, and solidarity. They were given the opportunity to share their diverse experiences in a comfortable and safe environment.
