Amman – Solidarity Is Global Institute-JO "SIGI" concluded, on Monday, April 28TH, 2025, the specialized training course on "Skills for Preparing Policy Papers from a Gender Perspective." The course was held as part of the project "Safe Pathways: Policies to Combat Violence in the Work Environment and World of Work," with support from the African Women's Development Fund.

The training activities spanned three days, from April 26 to 28, at the association’s "Um Wasfi" Center located in the Ashrafieh area, with the participation of 25 participants from SIGI’s staff and the field research team composed of youth leaders.

The training aimed to build the participants’ capacities in preparing policy papers based on scientific analysis and field data, with a focus on issues related to women's economic empowerment and creating safe and supportive work environments for them. Participants were provided with the necessary knowledge on data collection and analysis mechanisms, problem formulation, critical thinking, and how to transform findings into actionable policy papers that effectively address decision-makers.

The training also covered the principles of evidence-based scientific research, emphasizing the importance of integrating gender perspectives into policy analysis as a tool for understanding the challenges facing working women and proposing practical and applicable solutions.

This training is part of SIGI’S efforts to strengthen the capacity of target groups — especially women and youth — to influence public policies related to economic empowerment and protection from violence in the workplace. Building a work environment free of violence and discrimination is considered an essential part of the pathways to justice and sustainable development.

SIGI stressed that developing policy analysis and drafting tools from a gender perspective constitutes an effective and important step toward raising women's legal and economic awareness, and empowering them to demand fair and safe work environments that offer equal opportunities for professional growth and economic participation.
