This report provides a comprehensive analysis of the monitoring of content related to Jordan’s 2024 parliamentary elections on social media platforms and websites, focusing on several key aspects including electoral violence against women, hostile speech, and funded advertising. Key findings indicate that women candidates faced a high level of electoral violence, with female candidates being targeted in 95.54% of recorded cases. Female candidates, running for elections either as independent candidates, under the quota system, or on party lists, were the most vulnerable group to violence. The most prominent tactics used against them included social marginalization and questioning of competence, which accounted for 41.13% and 31.32% of the recorded cases, respectively. Bullying based on appearance of female candidates also increased significantly during the campaign period.
