Dr. Malak Al-Saudi, Head of the Ifat Center for Legal, Social, and Psychological Services Solidarity Is Global Institute-jo (SIGI), participated in the launch ceremony of the “Safe Homes” model evaluation study, organized by SOS Children’s Villages Jordan. The event was part of the project “Improving Access to Comprehensive Gender-Based Violence Services in Jordan.”
The ceremony included a presentation explaining the methodology of the study, which was conducted by a specialized expert. The evaluation targeted safe home models in three governorates: Amman, Irbid, and Aqaba. The main findings of the study were also presented, highlighting the importance of providing legal and psychological services to residents of these homes.
The event emphasized the importance of collaboration with civil society organizations, with the partnership between SOS and Solidarity Is Global Institute-jo (SIGI) being one of the key examples. Through this partnership, legal services (consultations and legal representation) were provided for a number of cases.
As part of the referral system, a number of women were transferred to safe homes to receive shelter and support services. Administrative support was also provided through coordination with government and security entities to ensure beneficiaries received the best level of care and services.
In this context, Dr. Al-Saudi emphasized the importance and effectiveness of the partnership between SIGI and SOS Children’s Villages through the provision of legal, administrative, and referral services.
