Under the patronage of Dr. Khalil Al-Abdallat, Director of the Human Rights Unit at the Jordanian Prime Ministry, the 24th Youth and Technology Conference will officially launch tomorrow, Wednesday, under the title: “Youth Active Participation and Human Rights” at the Dead Sea area.

The conference is organized by the Solidarity Is Global Instiute-JO (SIGI) in partnership and cooperation with the Jordanian National Women’s Committee and the Jordanian Prime Ministry, as part of the “Sawwet” project to activate the role of women and youth in political life, supported by Rutgers Netherlands. The conference will continue for three days, from May 14 to 16, 2025.

Approximately 100 young men and women between the ages of 18 and 30 from various governorates across the Kingdom will participate in the conference, with the goal of enhancing their engagement in human rights issues and community work.

The program includes a series of working sessions focusing on empowering women and youth in leadership and decision-making through education, training, and community initiatives. In addition, a policy on integrating persons with disabilities into the work environment from a rights-based perspective will be presented.

Several participants will present policy papers they prepared during earlier trainings under the “Sawwet” project, in addition to showcasing successful women's experiences in local work.

It is worth noting that this conference is part of the “Youth and Technology” conference series launched by SIGI in 2009. A total of 23 conferences have been held so far, aiming to develop the capabilities of young women and men, enhance their community participation, and promote the use of technology to serve humanitarian and social issues from a feminist, rights-based, and developmental perspective.
