Mr. Khalil Al-Abdallat, Director of the Human Rights Unit at the Jordanian Prime Ministry, affirmed that the royal vision, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II and directly supported by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah, serves as the cornerstone of all national efforts aimed at empowering youth, preserving their dignity, and ensuring their rights.

This came during his patronage of the 24th Youth and Technology Conference, titled “Youth Active Participation and Human Rights”, held on Wednesday in cooperation with Solidarity Is Global Institute-JO (SIGI) and Jordanian National Forum for Women. The event brought together a distinguished group of Jordanian youth and representatives from government entities and national institutions to highlight the state's commitment to solidifying the role of youth as key partners in building the present and shaping the future, while ensuring their integration into the human rights system.

Mr. Al-Abdallat pointed out that the government has taken tangible steps to translate this vision into reality through constitutional amendments, lowering the age of candidacy, and updating relevant laws to enhance youth presence in public life and ensure equal opportunities in political, social, and economic spheres.

He highlighted the pivotal role played by the Crown Prince at international forums, stating:
"His Royal Highness Prince Al Hussein was the first globally to champion the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace, and Security, encouraging governments and the international community to recognize youth not just as victims of conflict but as peacebuilders."

He added that efforts are ongoing to align government work with international obligations, especially the recommendations from the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), which in its fourth cycle emphasized the need to strengthen youth participation in public life, climate action, development, and human rights.

In a direct message to youth, Mr. Al-Abdallat urged them to play an active role in protecting human rights and promoting the values of good citizenship, affirming that youth are the backbone of a modern state and the true guardians of the justice, equality, and human rights values that His Majesty wants Jordan to embody globally.

He commended the organizers for their efforts in holding this conference, which contributes to building youth capacities and enhancing their engagement, emphasizing that any initiative investing in youth energy is an investment in Jordan’s security, stability, and future.

For her part, Mrs. Noha Mahrez, President of Solidarity Is Global Institute-JO (SIGI), highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration with decision-makers, particularly with government units that intersect with civil society — especially the Human Rights Unit in the Prime Ministry — as civil society is a key partner in implementing national strategic plans.

Mrs. En’am Asha, Executive Director and Advisor of SIGI, stated that the Youth and Technology conference series reflects their ongoing commitment to implementing national plans and programs aimed at increasing youth participation and upholding high-level political will, while maintaining a participatory approach between government institutions and civil society.

Miss. Zuhour Gharaybeh, Project Manager of Sawwet, pointed out the importance of the project in activating the role of women and youth in political life. This aligns with the implementation of the outputs of the Political Modernization Committee, whose key goals included increasing the political participation of women and youth and ensuring their presence in decision-making positions.

Finally, Mrs. Ruba Matarneh, Secretary General of Jordanian National Forum for Women, emphasized the significance of collaboration among civil society organizations, as such cooperation magnifies impact. Coordination and partnership strengthen their ability to influence public policies and hold decision-makers accountable, while enabling more integrated work with government institutions — particularly concerning youth and women’s political participation.
