As part of the “Shaping the Future and Changing the Narrative” project, implemented by the Solidarity Is Global Institute – Jordan (SIGI-Jo) with the support of Art Fusion in Romania and funded by the Erasmus+ Programme – European Union, an introductory meeting was held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the institute’s headquarters. The meeting brought together young men and women participating in the project to discuss training sessions and preparations related to the Newspaper Theater technique.

Ms. Rana Abu Al-Sundus, Programs and Activities Officer at SIGI-Jo, gave an overview of the institute since its establishment and highlighted its key services and programs aimed at supporting and empowering women and girls. She emphasized the important role that young people play in shedding positive light on women’s issues and in using creative and innovative tools to amplify their voices.

Ms. Hanaa Ramadan, Media and Communications Officer and Coordinator of the “Shaping the Future” project, presented the overall idea of the project and gave a simple explanation of the Newspaper Theater technique, which serves as an awareness-raising tool to promote a fair image of women and gender issues in the media by addressing community concerns interactively.

The young participants expressed their appreciation for SIGI-Jo’s role in serving the local community, affirming their commitment and enthusiasm to work as part of the Newspaper Theater team. The meeting concluded with an agreement on regular follow-up sessions to track progress in preparation for the project’s activities through the end of this year.

It is worth noting that the project is being implemented in partnership with six countries: Romania, Portugal, Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan.
