The Jordanian Women's Solidarity Institute (SIGI) participated in the hybrid International Scientific Conference titled "The Isolation of the Condemned Self and the Stigma of Drug-Related Crimes in Arab Consciousness: Towards a Scientific and Humanitarian Approach to Combating the Drug Crisis." The conference was organized by the International Scientific BRC Foundation in cooperation with the International Affairs Society and several scientific and academic institutions, under the patronage of H.E. Professor Adnan Badran.

The Institute was represented by Dr. Eman Al-Hussein, Chairperson of the Board of Directors, and Ms. Samar Al-Jabrah, Legal Advisor and member of the Institute, who both participated in the opening session of the conference.

Ms. Samar Al-Jabrah served as the moderator and master of ceremonies for the opening session. In her remarks, she emphasized that today's youth face a range of interconnected challenges, including unemployment, deteriorating economic conditions, addiction to electronic games, and the growing threat of drug abuse. She stressed the importance of strengthening collaboration between civil society organizations and government institutions to protect young people and prevent this issue from developing into a broader societal phenomenon.

In her address, Dr. Eman Al-Hussein affirmed that SIGI believes empowering families, strengthening the role of women, protecting youth, and promoting awareness are fundamental pillars of community prevention. She noted that investing in people is the most sustainable investment for building safe and resilient societies capable of addressing current and future challenges.

She added that the conference highlights the human dimension of the stigma surrounding addiction, whose impact extends beyond the individual to affect families and society as a whole. Such stigma can become a barrier to recovery and reintegration, underscoring the need to promote a community discourse based on knowledge, respect for human dignity, and support for prevention, treatment, and social inclusion.

The Jordanian Women's Solidarity Institute reaffirmed that its participation in such scientific conferences reflects its commitment to supporting national and regional initiatives that promote community awareness, facilitate the exchange of expertise, and build effective partnerships aimed at combating drug abuse while fostering a culture of prevention and social responsibility.
