The Jordanian Women’s Solidarity Institute (SIGI) participated in the seminar titled "Mental Health and Crime: Social and Human Rights Dimensions," organized by the National Centre for Human Rights. The seminar aimed to shed light on the psychological, social, and legal dimensions associated with crime, bringing together a distinguished group of experts, specialists, and representatives of national institutions.

SIGI’s Executive Director, Ms. Enam Al-Asha, took part in the third panel discussion, titled "The Legal and Human Rights Dimensions of Psychologically Related Crimes." During her intervention, she emphasized that addressing issues related to women and crime should not be limited to studies, research, and statistics. Rather, it also requires greater attention to other key dimensions, particularly the role of the media in covering these issues and the professionalism with which they are reported and highlighted.

She also stressed the importance of examining the extent to which research and studies address the criminal motives underlying crimes committed against women, as this would contribute to a deeper understanding of the phenomenon and support the development of more effective responses.

SIGI’s participation reflects its continued commitment to contributing to national dialogue that promotes human rights, supports efforts to protect women, and advances comprehensive approaches to addressing violence and crime from both a human rights and social perspective.
