The Jordanian Women’s Solidarity Institute (SIGI), in partnership with the King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD), implemented the “Change Agenda: Practical Political Empowerment Program for Youth and Women,” engaging 50 young men and women from Irbid Governorate and East Amman over four training days during August 2026.

The program aims to empower young men and women to engage practically in political and public life and strengthen their capacities in public policy analysis, identifying priority issues, and developing position and policy papers. It also seeks to enhance their advocacy, communication, and dialogue skills with decision-makers, contributing to program- and solution-based political participation.

The training program included a series of specialized sessions and practical exercises focusing on the concept of advocacy, analysis of community issues, stakeholder identification, developing advocacy messages, preparing policy papers, and formulating feasible alternatives and actionable recommendations.

The training adopted an interactive methodology combining theoretical knowledge with practical application through group exercises and activities focused on issue analysis and initiative classification, as well as distinguishing between policy papers, position papers, reports, and academic research, ultimately leading to the development of practical proposals and solutions to community issues.

The implementation of the program comes as part of the efforts of the Jordanian Women’s Solidarity Institute and the King Abdullah II Fund for Development to strengthen the participation of youth and women in political and public life, build their capacity to influence policies and decision-making, and create spaces for direct dialogue with decision-makers.

In addition to the training component, the program is scheduled to include two dialogue sessions with decision-makers, as well as opportunities for young men and women to contribute to the development of policy papers and practical proposals addressing priority community issues.

The program reflects the importance of investing in the potential of young men and women and empowering them to move from traditional forms of participation toward active political engagement grounded in knowledge, evidence, and solutions, with a particular focus on strengthening young women’s participation and presence in decision-making spaces and public life.
